I always feel privileged to be invited to capture a family’s unique life in a Family Tree painting. Each piece I create is like a vibrant tapestry, woven with personal touches that bring a couple’s journey to life!
This radiant painting, commissioned for a couple’s 50th wedding anniversary, captures their love and legacy with whimsical charm. I painted the couple seated on a wrought iron bench at the base of their own red maple family tree, with their wedding photo hanging above them on the trunk as a nostalgic tribute to five decades of devotion. I dressed Mom, a retired registered nurse, in scrubs. She is holding a hand of cards to symbolize her love for bridge. Beside her, I painted gardening tools and vibrant flowers, reflecting her passion for nurturing her garden. Dad, an avid reader, is depicted with a newspaper in hand and a stack of novels at his side, a nod to his love for diving into stories. I painted the couple’s cat on top of the books. I also added the couple’s recently deceased beloved Jack Russell with angel wings.
