Creative family portrait painting that tells your family story
Custom family tree painting is an original family portrait that is a reflection of your family. It’s fully customized and there is no set formula as far as which layout will be the best for your particular family. Since a family tree painting is often commissioned as a gift for a wife, husband, parents’ or grandparents’ wedding anniversary they are the main focus of the painting. However, the rest of the family could be represented in a variety of ways.

Family tree painting with full body portraits, family members’ names on both leaves and roots
The couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary is pictured at the base of the family tree with their children, children’s spouses and grandchildren depicted seated in the tree branches up above with their names written on the leaves next to them. The couple’s parents and siblings are not painted as full body portraits, but represented as names written on the roots of the tree. There is also a banner with the couple’s names and their marriage date.
Personalized family tree with each branch of the family painted in different color
This family tree painting depicts a couple with their children, their parents, and includes their ancestors, but in a different way than in the painting above. Instead of the names of the ancestors being written on the roots of the tree, they are written on the leaves and grouped according to each lineage. Each ‘branch’ of the family has leaves in a slightly different green color to distinguish it from the others. The whole family is pictured seated on the tree in a circular pattern.

In the family tree painting below, only the parents and their children painted as full body portraits, while the children’s spouses and their children are represented as names written on leaves next to them. An inscription with the parents’ names and their anniversary date is placed on the top of the painting.

This family tree has the parents painted as fully body portraits, while their descendants are only represented as the names on leaves. A photo of the couple on their wedding day as well as a banner with their family name and the date of their marriage are placed on the tree.

In this example of a family tree painting the parents celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary is painted seating on the tree, with their children, children’s spouses and grandchildren placed around them. The couple’s parents and siblings are also depicted seated on the tree below them. A ribbon inscribed with the parents’ wedding date, their names and a message from their children is painted wrapped around the tree above them.
