Custom Family Tree Painting – A Timeless Family Heirloom

I create the majority of my family tree paintings for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, but once in a while, I get commissioned to create one as a family heirloom for someone who wants to record and preserve their family history for future generations

Commissioned to preserve the family story of an Italian-American family, this artwork centers on the client’s parents, both WWII real heroes: her father a soldier, her mother a nurse. I painted them in their wartime uniforms, youthful and determined, as they were during that era. I represented their shared love for bowling with trophies at their side. Dad’s passion for golf and UCONN basketball came alive with a basketball and golf clubs nearby, while Mom’s thrill for casino visits is captured with a playful mini slot machine beside her. For the backdrop, I used their favorite beach, a place that held countless special memories for the family.

The rest of the family, including their beloved dog, is depicted as ‘half-portraits’ in elegant frames hanging from the tree’s branches, each name inscribed on the tree leaves nearby. A vibrant banner crowns the scene, proudly displaying the family name alongside the U.S. and Italian flags, honoring their dual heritage.
